Little Bits of a Little Bit's Life

Maybe they'd have to hold each other when it rose, all organe and full and close. Maybe that's where our romantic notions about the moon first came from. Two people holding each other to keep their hearts from breaking, because everybody they knew was dying in the cold rocks and dust piles a quarter million miles away...

Oh man. Dance is getting back to being the good old awesome thing it was in the past. I had two fabulous dance experiences this week, neither of which included certain boys which of course made it waaaay less stressful (although definitely somewhat sadder...:( Anyways, Swing Central on Tuesday was really fun. I just needed to get out of the dorm for a while that night, and I was kind of jittery going there by myself. Suprisingly, nobody else normal was there -- they were all at a DorN rehearsal, I found out later. But lo and behold, Gary and Acuith were there! I hadn't seen them in ages! I basically ended up dancing with them the whole night because they didn't know anyone else and neither did I hehe. Honestly, I don't have a problem with that. Gary is such a fun lead, and Acuith made me laugh *so much* because he was effectively trying to hustle or west coast or club two-step to everything and never smooth lindy. I actually only stayed about an hour, enough to get the mixer in and a couple random dances. Then I left, intending to work, but when I got back to the Flo I was in such a glorious mood that I couldn't focus. So, I went for a night walk around the campus. I took only routes that I don't usually take or never have taken, and enjoyed myself immensely. The temperature was just perfect, and there was a strong breeze that reminded me of the winds we'd get off an ocean. Completely moonless, but unfortunately cloudly and light polluted. Regardless, it was a fantastic walk. Sometimes it's good just to get out by yourself, sort stuff out on your own.

Then tonight, at Heuringer Abend or however it's spelled, I showed up late because of Winds rehearsal (which in and of itself was WAAAAAAAAY cool - wait til you see our homebrewed choreo at Big Dance cuz it's gonna rock the hizzouse). But there were lots of people there I love and I had such wonderful dances with them. Eric and I shared a wonderful cross-step, and after not having danced with him in ages it was pure bliss. Jeff and I got some utterly unspeakably awesome redowas in -- we were perfectly matched and responding to the music totally with one mind and man were we in the moment together! And I also got to see David who I haven't seen in years since I am never at the B or M anymore. Yay catching up! And Jon Gaw totally impressed me. His leads are getting so awesomely tight and clear and he's become such a creative and fantastic dancer! Lots of exclamation points are about the only way I can express how fun this past week was: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And tomorrow: exclamation points squared! I can't wait to see everyone. My dress will be impossible to miss - it's bright peach. And if you miss the dress somehow, you won't miss the earrings. Or the date ;) Best of luck to Opening & their choreographers Kari, Tina, and Jeremy - y'all are gonna be great!
