Little Bits of a Little Bit's Life

Maybe they'd have to hold each other when it rose, all organe and full and close. Maybe that's where our romantic notions about the moon first came from. Two people holding each other to keep their hearts from breaking, because everybody they knew was dying in the cold rocks and dust piles a quarter million miles away...

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted! I flew home on Friday, and stayed in DC for a while with my aunt and grandma, so I didn't actually make it home home until yesterday evening. DC was really great, I'll post photos later. We got to see some beautiful architecture in Alexandria, and I liked Georgetown b/c it had a more college-aged feel to it so I didn't feel quite as out of place. We visited the National Shrine to the Immaculate Conception as well. The cathedral was absolutely stunning, with incredible mosaics and atmosphere. I loved all the shrines they had to Mary, which were sponsored by different countries (i.e. Our Lady of Guadaloupe = Mexico, our Lady of Lourdes = France, etc.). It was strange, though, b/c I didn't feel as much in the presence of the Lord as I felt when visiting the church where JFK's funeral was held. That church felt very, very holy, and I had a long conversation with the Lord there. The National Shrine was too opulent, I think, for me to hear or be able to say anything special.

This week is going to be so ridiculously busy! Tomorrow I have my brother's photo portrait session & an eye-doctor's appointment, Wednesday I have dentist & the beach, and Sat I have Tom's party. Somewhere in there I need to fit a shopping trip, evening with Tom, evening with grandparents, coaching Danny on college application stuff, doing the books for URO for SIGGRAPH, create a SIGGRAPH travelouge, read HMS Surprise, read Paul Tillich, and contemplate some major upcoming decisions. At least Harry Potter's done now, so I won't have that to distract me too :)

On other topics, I'm bummed that I didn't get to go to Gaskells and I won't be able to go to hustle this week. Dedicate a dance to me or something :) Oh, and what do you guys think of personalizing my license plates on my car to be PIVOTS? I need something better than the # & ABC combo I've got now. Leave me suggestions in my comments!!
